Perfectly Crispy Baked Fries

Perfecting a fry recipe is essential in my opinion if you have a toddler like mine who will only eat potatoes at the moment in fry form. Or if you love fries, making them at home is a much healthier option. It's also pretty quick and easy. So here are a couple of tricks for perfectly baked crispy fries every time!

The secret?

  1. Mainly parchment paper. It allows the potatoes to crisp up without sticking to the pan and needing a ton of oil.
  2. Cooking at a high temperature.
  3. Make sure not to over crowd the baking sheet so that eat fry has room to get crispy.

Health Benefits

Potatoes are loaded with vitamins B6 & B3, potassium, manganese, and fiber, making them a great comfort food.

Some people don't so well with potatoes though, specifically some with autoimmune dysfunction who do not tolerate veggies in the nightshade family well. So as always listen to your body! If that is the case then you can try the same trick but just use sweet potatoes or yams (which we also make all of the time!).

This is less of an exact recipe but more about how to get crispy, well done fries baked in the oven.

Notes

Every oven is slightly different so you may need alter the bake time. The key is for them to bake until golden and crispy. Feel free to use the same method with yams or sweet potatoes. They may just need to bake for a few more minutes.
